OK - maybe you don't know what wilderness is, but I'll tell you. It's a formally designated area that restricts buildings and motors. It's generally considered the highest level of protection for land. There are no lifts, no huts, no motor vehicle roads.

The truck trail I referred to is a long closed, since the 1970's, administrative truck road.

I have nothing against skiing on roads or in lands that aren't protected just so long as it's not a sensitive area that won't piss someone off or lead a bunch of db's to abuse it.

I wasn't aware it was a competition but I can look it up just fine on my own. All federal and state lands are in public record. I don't need you to start a thread to tell me. Private land I could care less about.

What I want to know is why you shit talk everyone about bc skiing but I've never seen anything but pictures of you at resorts or nordic centers.

If you have all that wilderness, why not use it? Because the snow is 'shitty and dangerous'? Because it's not a 'wonderful kick and glide experience'? Because you have a season pass at the lookout?

If you like to ski at resorts and on closed mountain passes, then go for it. I'm not going to flame you for it. But YOU are going to flame people for anything that doesn't fit into your tiny brain idea of the world and how you think skiing should be. I only wish you could actually see how much of a hypocrite you are. Everyone is, to some degree, but you, my friend, take the cake.

Ok Mikeinhoser,
You're a peach of deep thought. This is probably the best year ever for STAYING inbounds around here..Conditions are too variable to even bother tromping out to find 3k of vert..Conditions have been total shit for SC ; that's just how bad it is..And listen, meadow stompin' boy, until you get off the 2% grades, maybe you ought to take care in criticisms
I will unabashedly tell the world that I consider myself to now be in the main a lift-served skier who hits the SC for some sweet goods and then skates back in to the lifts..BFD, it's all the same..These days most of the ppl I ski with simply have no interest in chasing breakable crusts all day..Springtime will bring some fun XCD..for now it's all inbounds ..
St Reg Basin is a fave BC ski of mine..But no one seems to want to bother ..

Oh - I wasn't aware that skiing inbounds made you better than everyone else who skiing in the backcountry, despite the pitch. It's just that YOU are better than everyone else no matter what you do. You'd talk shit if someone was skiing down 50°on glare ice or if they were kicking and gliding in their backyard.

And I don't think you know what a meadow is. That wasn't a meadow in that picture, it was a frozen river bed. We don't have meadows here dickwad. We have fields and they are man-made unless you go above 4000-4500', then the trees start to disappear.

And I guarantee that road you showed was of no greater pitch than any of the truck trails here. They usually grade them about the same max pitch.

Well Ron, you seem to be pissing all over anyone who isn't doing something that you feel is awesome... so how are you any different?

Listen man - when you're helpful and positive you're a great guy and I feel like you have a lot of positive things to share. I don't know why you don't stick with that? When you're a dick, people are dicks back - me especially.

Joke around, bust my balls - I'm fine with it. But don't piss all over what someone enjoys in one post and then talk it up in the next like it's the best. That really ticks most people off.

What's "awesome" ? You get riled when I tell the truth..like the truth is most "dedicated" BC skiers get out about once per/week if they are damned lucky and the weather and conditions and necessities conspire..Otherwise, they just ride the lifts and search the ungroomed and SC..And that's the truth Ruth!
Now go take a vid of A BUNNY HILL SKI AND POST IT FOR US mIKEINHOSER!!!
