I like that boat, it's one of my top two choices for a composite tandem tripper in my future.

A nice all around classic in modern materials.

I do not have a real DIY ski work bench, but instead another saw horse workbench with a cheap ski vise setup. This ski vise setup came with a rubber band that you can hook through on to your bindings and around a little hook that you clamp to the table in the middle of the workbench.

Of course, that rubber band broke after a while, so now I use one of those crappy little bungee cords that come in every bungee cord assortment, but which I have only ever found one use for (this).

On 75mm bindings, I can run the bungee cord around the hook and hook each end into the holes in the binding. On NNN-BC, I clamp the cord itself into the binding, and pull the hooks at the ends of the bungee cord onto the hook that came with the ski vise.

I like your set-up. Simple but effective. I think it matches the principle in the video of the DIY workbench but with different equipment at a low cost.

I’ve devolved to using a canvas drop cloth instead of a bench. These are all of the tools I might need to get the job done.

I've always told people that an assortment of sledge hammers and several mammal paws are the critical components of a well rounded ski tech's kit.

I showed that photo to my wife Al. She gave me a really funny look :(

Those Tourcaps brought make some happy memories - barrels of fun in the gay nineties!

Thanks for noticing Smitty but the hammers aren't specific to ski tuning. I keep them handy on all my jobs, as I like to hit things whenever possible. The mammal paws are rabbits' feet that I've found while skiing, and since waxing is more art than science I keep them around for luck.

I'm impressed that you it showed to your wife Nick, it sounds like she was impressed too

Those Tour Caps were my favorite ski with leather boots for about ten years. They handled it all.
