Fischer Transnordic BOOT

So I got finally the Transnordic BC. They fit me perfectly, but I will see how it will be on skis. Hope I will try them on the weekend. I need to change binding from old SNS BC to NNN BC on my old Madshus Glittertinds and then I will test them. I can compare them only with my old Salomon XADV 7 boots and these new Transnordics are definitely more stiff so I hope they will offer more control. Sole is super stiff.
WIll the sole soften after some time? I think I could not bend them when walking around, hope this will not be issue when I will try some telemark turns.

So I’m 40 miles in on these boots after a 5 day tour through Baxter State Park. I used them for driving my Eon 205s and some Voile 3 pins. They also drove some snowshoes, but that’s not what I’m here for.

The sizing was interesting. I wear a size 14 running shoes and like a little room in the toe. I went with a 47 and still had some slipping in my right boot. Synched all laces as hard as I could and really cranked down on the heel strap.

I’m pretty new to XC skiing, so some advice is needed. If I’m still getting some heel slipping and my toes don’t ever touch the front, even in a full knee to ski tele turn), should I size down?

@AdamA, I usually wear an Altra 13 (slightly too short) / 47 XC Boot.

Went for the 46 (what I wear in Alaska BC which are snug but comfortable on me), hope they fit well, I'll report back. Pumped try to them out!

Having heard rumors fischer boots aren't good quality either, they cannot be as bad as the glittertinds. Or?

@biocandy I think that the synthetic boots generally are less durable than leather ones. I cannot see any weakness on the Fischer Transnordic.

I think the transnordics are a good value for the price, and even better if you get them on sale. I wouldn't say they are a high-quality boot though. High quality leather boots from over thirtyfive years ago cost about the same as the transnordics do now. I would think they could make a much nicer boot of similar design, but they would probably cost around 600 bucks or more. That being said, I don't see why you wouldn't get your money's worth out of them.

Fischer TransNORDIC 75

Images of different boot insoles for comparison. I will not comment on fit at this time as I have abnormal feet, Right is 1/2 size bigger than Left, both with high arch.

Measurements taken from the insoles using a Metric square.

Kind of off topic but is it easy to remove the footbed from Alaskas? I seem to remember the insole being sewn into the boot. Would love to replace them with Superfeet.

I had to use a flat tip to pull the insole from the side then grab and it pulled right out.
