The Ski Lite / XCD thread
Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
Ron - why do you think I care about the conditions in Idaho?
I'm going to ski here:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wanak ... 7dff0a49d8
and here this weekend:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Newco ... 379a8950a8
I already told ya - swamp skiing. We had rain last Sunday and then it got cold on Monday so things got a little crispy - no new snow since then so I'm going to stay low.

I dunno, because you are actually in Pomeroy ?? ha ha..
Anyways enough of this ..I have more XCd photos to edit and a box to migrate from 32 bit to 64 bit Debian!

What do I care what he does?
He'll probably be here:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/White ... 6b!5m1!1e4
http://www.whiteface.com/
It's a badass little mountain. It's actually not little at all. It towers over 3000' from the valley and very exposed. I can pick it out of almost every landscape from afar - it's very distinctive.

Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
I'm not in Pomeroy - never even heard of the place before Dong showed up.
Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
Reminds me of Mt Spokane ..or 49 , 'cept they both "tower" about 4 k above the lowest points in the valleys near them

Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
Ron you really are crazy. I just looked up Mt Spokane, it's barely 3000' feet above Spirit Lake. Whiteface is over 3600' feet above the Ausable River.
Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
ooogle Spokane River, dummy..it's around 1800 feet; flows through town ..shock!!! ..Mt Spokane is at about 5900 ..
actually the river is aroun 1700 feet just west of town..The Columbia is around 1500 where you can look straight up to 49 from it a few miles away..Who knew ??? You do the math, Mike, errrr, I Mean Dogshow!

Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
How far you want to go Ron? To the ocean? To the bottom of the Mariana trench? Spokane will always be higher... dummy
Yeah prominence is higher for Spokane, but it's not 4k. You can stand at the entrance of Whiteface on Rt 86 and look straight up 3600' to the summit, which is only about a mile away. It's a big, steep muthafucka.

Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
Yea, wtrv, measure it from any relatively close practical point..it's not even a rational standard to measure from the base of the "hill".. If you stand in town and look up, you're looking at an elevation "towering" 4k -4k+ above you ..who gives a fk ?
