Woah. Should I pack a suitcase full of Voile bindings and head to Japan? That is way over the retail price and the bindings are still in production.Johnny wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 8:53 amhttps://www.ebay.com/itm/373987415303

There are worse ideas: I bring back Shimano/Sugino bike components, wheelsets... every time we visit my Japanese in-laws, because it's half the price.FourthCoast wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 2:21 pmWoah. Re: Gear Basket
Good spot. I had already picked up a pair of the Manual bindings from Trailhead last week for my $30 Kijiji Karhu XCD GT find. Too bad that our season is over. Won't get to try the setup until next year.
Re: Gear Basket
Likewise just got some BC manuals to put on my tour skates, pull the BC autos from them for my unmounted/undrilled Bonna 1800s if you can believe in such a Kijiji miracle.
Now I'm just looking for a deal on lighter NNN BC boots than the Alaskas I have, in Canada so I don't have to deal with duty, in case I need to return for sizing.
I've got BC Magnums on Gammes, which are great; and BC autos on Fischer S Bound Outabound 88s which are fine: BC autos on skates are a mistake, but are fine on skis.

Re: Gear Basket
I odered a pair of the Fischer BCX Grand Tour boots from Steep and Cheap for $137US and a set of the BC Auto bindings for my skinny hand-me-down trail skis. Still much cheaper than Trailhead, even with the currency conversion. I will pick them up in Vermont when visiting family for Easter. I just started this year and am hooked. I have been a snowboarder for years and have accessed the woods on snowshoes a lot, but have always wanted to try xc. My neighbour gave me some old gear, not really suited to BC, but I have been having a blast. Chasing sales now to get ready for next season. This is really the better way of moving through snow. Can't wait to practice the telemark techniques more. Where did you source the skate blades in Canada (or did you have to import from Europe)?
