The French invasion
Re: The French invasion
You don't even have to drive. Your place is on the way - we'll pick you up.

Well I-IV of course. Then there is Houses of the Holy. Physical Graffiti. Presence. In through the Out Door. Coda. And then live shit.
It's probably more than 8hrs - I could probably get together double that if I had to
Yeah... yeah... I know you hate Zep. I like Screeching Weasel though.

It's really hard to avoid Led Zep when you're a kid trying to learn how to play guitar. You HAVE to love Jimmy Page. I tried, I really tried. Bought albums, learned songs. I still think they do have a few very, very good tunes... But to me, most of it is just bullshit... Arrogant musicians jerking off on their instruments... (Please, don't hate me, we can still be friends... ; )

Re: The French invasion
Hahaha... I don't hate anyone for their music choices.
I'm going to pm you some stuff later on from some of my weird musician friends (actually I inherited most of them through marriage - my wife went to music school)... anyway, you'll actually like it, or think it's the worst thing you ever heard.
Led Zeppelin is like Birkenstocks... good for sitting around drinking PBR and smoking pot. Their music has no meaning. It is just bullshit. Most music is - sometimes it's just a groovy tune. Sometimes it's not all that musical but has tons of poetic value (Bob Dylan).
Anyway, like my skiing - I'm not a good enough musician be as cool as they were.

LOL! Well you can both crash at my place on the way as you pick me up too. Rimouski, it's only another 3 hours to the Chic Chocs. And by the way. It's not really resort-y, its mostly in a national park (well provincial heh heh) or forest reserves. All all good.
I live for the Telemark arc....The feeeeeeel.....I ski miles to get to a place where there is guaranteed snow to do the deal....TM

Yep, it's quite the opposite of resorty... Except for the big Auberge in the middle of nowhere, it's fucking dead. (Which is cool!) There's also Murdochville, a pure XCD heaven. But there's such a bad vibe over there... A typical retarded mining ghost town where you can buy a house for 20k (and have the greatest backyard in the East...)
Seriously, the area is truly beautiful. Breathtaking. It's just that here in QC, it's the rich-alpine-touring-babyboomers' favorite thing to brag about. I just can't stand it.

Re: The French invasion
Cool - maybe resort-y was a poor choice for word as I have never really seen anything to support that - ummm what would be a better word? Popular vacation destination particularly for skiers? I'm sure there is a French word for that I don't know
I suppose resort implies huge hotels and spas - but where do all the baby-boomers stay?

Re: The French invasion
Ooooo - I know the term I wanted to use. It ends with a y and is related to hornets. I won't utter it as it get's some resort goer's a bit up in arms.
