Chouinard Tele Binding
Found this old t-shirt in the bottom of a drawer. Toughest binding: yeah, my leg broke, it didn't. I bought the shirt to commemorate the event back in 1987.
I thought some here might enjoy the photo and/or recollect the binding.
(I would have been better off with a binding that pulled out!)

Best #-pin ever made in my opinion. I have 3 pair that are brand new I’m hoarding!

Nice shirt, and if it still fits you’re doing good.
I found this in the bottom of the tub it’s been sitting in for 35 years.

Re: Chouinard Tele Binding
Those are good bindings, although the first version was undersized across the pins by 2mm, making it a 73mm binding(!), and the sides of the binding frequently cracked where they turned upward.
Nice poster, Al.

Agreed, excellent 3 pin. Still using 'em on a pair or two of my everyday skis... and the original Riva's on another.

The red cable binding on the Fischers is a Chouinard ("Bla<c>k Diamond") though you can't see the logo with it "open" as it's atop the long stem lever up front. I'm guessing he bought the design or it was under license.
Re: Chouinard Tele Binding
What year are those from? Looking at them it would seem they would function approximately like a Riva. It's interesting that the technology really hasn't changed much if you get down to it, a lot of peeps are skiing pretty much the same as folks have been for a long time. So is it a crutch to ski the old gear or does it help be more well rounded? I ski stuff like that because it's dirt cheap, I can throw it around my dirty work car like it's nothing and head to the golf course
