Value of k2 super stinx???
I found these on Facebook marketplace for $250, unsure of the bindings. It's near my home. I am interested in resort skis, nothing too intense. Right now I have sbound 98 on nnnbc alpina Alaska, and scarpa t2s with no skis to match yet!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Value of k2 super stinx???
I had the previous model of Super Stinx, served me well as an all mountain ski for some years. Very nice ski in my opinion. However... they were replaced by that "candy cane" model you're looking at. Tried those, and thought they sucked, to be succinct. Seemed stiff and uncooperative, might have been a half decent ski for ice. That was more than a dozen years ago; I think I took one or two demo runs one's and went back to the truck for my own skis.
Those bindings are old BD Pitbulls, never skied those, but they were only produced for a short while, as were the candy canes. I'd say $250 is kinda high for the set, though not entirely outrageous.

Re: Value of k2 super stinx???
Aren't those Hammerhead (22 Designs) bindings?
edit:
Regardless, they are pretty old. I don't see them as a great value, but if they're nearby, you could go take a look. The bindings are solid, and they are mounted into K2 inserts. If the bottoms/edges are in good shape you could decide based on that.

I thought the bindings were 22 Designs Hammer Heads -- what is the BD pitbull indication?
Thanks.
Edit: I see Montana Alum posted while I was typing...
Prior to Covid, I was still resort skiing hammerheads -- I'm also old and of questionable value!
Thanks.

@stilltryin
Good point. You know, given the price of resort skis and bindings, these could be a good option on a budget.

You guys are right, those are indeed Hammerheads. Just took a quick look at 'em and the spring set-up had the old Pitbulls pop into my head. O do know those are candy canes and I do recall clearly my dislike for 'em, but YMMV.

Re: Value of k2 super stinx???
First, I would think there are much better options for $250. Second, I would check the camber to tell how much life they have left. For that price I would want to see that the camber looks close to new. Third, the bases should be clean with no core shots. For the age of the bindings, I wouldn't put too high of it value on them. I would ask for a picture of the two skis back to back (bases facing and touching each other at tip and tail).Sloth Monster wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 6:00 pmI found these on Facebook marketplace for $250, unsure of the bindings. The parameters or something I would use in evaluating a purchase of any used ski. I still have my old pair of Super Stinx and the camber is shot. That speaks to all the fun I had on them. I never skied the candy canes. As Phoenix said above, he didn't care for the candy canes very much. Best wishes are finding something that will suit your needs.

Re: Value of k2 super stinx???
I wasn't sure what the going rate was for used skis/bindings, so I went to FHL's site:
https://www.freeheellife.com/collection ... emark-skis
Here's their used stuff. I've sold gear through them before. They do a good job of going over equipment to make sure items are in reasonable shape. This may provide some insight. I gave a lifty at Deer Valley an old pair of Hammerheads a few years ago. He loves them, and still uses them. They just don't wear out.
Edit:
Here in the Salt Lake City area, there's lots to choose from for around $150

Wow, this is what I started on. $140

Re: Value of k2 super stinx???
I think it depends how much you want the bindings, because they are worth more than the ski. The skis have inserts which is a plus for me. If you want that binding as much as the ski I would offer 150.00.
If I were selling that setup I'd be happy with 150.00.
