Salomon QST 92, is it a good tele choice?

Post by jjuummm » Thu Feb 01, 2024 2:39 pm

I have a pair of Salomon QST 92 for alpine. I want to get into telemark without buying new skis and I'm wondering if there is a good choice sitting around in my posession already.
  • Is the Salomon QST 93 a good tele ski choice?
Has anyone used it and how did it go?
Would you recommend it, and why?

It should work well for tele. It’s a good all around ski with sensible dimensions.

IMHO there’s only a few things that make a poor tele ski—too stiff, excessive rocker, asymetrical sidecut tuned for alpine. Otherwise don’t overthink it and run what you brung.

QST 92 worked well for me mounted with Outlaw X. Until my Outlaw X imploded! I felt it had a nice even flex . Sometimes felt a bit to soft for me particularly on hard pack/icy conditions . Nice in sub 12 inch powder . Nice maneuverability short, medium turns. Had to work it to go long. But overall an all round nice finesse type ski in the right conditions . If you are a charger, look elsewhere.
