- Favorite Skis: Any ski suitable for telemark or backcountry skiing, with some side-cut for turning.
- Favorite boots: Scarpa plastic telemark. Asolo and Alfa leather boots.

There are some skiing xcd on tech bindings, even when the focus is mostly xc and narrower skis. Utemagasinet.no has an article on this. This is a bit special case though, as an "expedition race" where you have to bring an extra ski, and most bring two pairs of skis with different focus. I think you can see the picture of his setup here, with one pair of Asnes Ousland and one pair of Ski Trab skis, both with tech bindings:

I have seen other examples also and a friend of a friend uses the very light EVI Fury for touring, and at 86 mm waist it is the same weight as Asnes Falketind 62. I think especially in loose conditions it has advantages, and AT boots also have much more support if snow is harder:
