Have you tried foreplay?

These ones are a good screw. They weigh a half an ounce more but doubt you would notice that. More durable and they are flexible enough.
Blagues à part, not sure these (made by Wintersteiger) would fit...
Aventure Nordique who carry the Swix you have and this one say that both brands fit poles that are +- 14 mm at the screw. I screwed them right on to my Black Diamond Traverse poles. After I screw them on I put a band of black plasitc tape around the lower thread, I have never had one pop off.

I always carry two spare baskets, but not big ones like that- just the regular BD powder basket. In fact when I tent camp I carry eight of them, because I use them as snow anchors (dead-men) for the tent. I just tie a blocking knot in a loop of webbing, thread it through the center hole of the basket and attach a biner to it, voila! Works great for securing the tent and is light.

In Finnmark a couple of years ago on the vidda, I met a group of French skiers from Gap, they were doing an old time reenactment of a polar expe, tres Grand Nord! They had firs and Daniel Boon hats, wooden pulks, etc. They had big wood telemark sticks, but also were cheating a bit and using modern poles. One guy had lost a basket and was really bummed. I asked him what brand of pole he had- he said Black Diamond- I said you are in luck and gave him a basket. He said how can I ever thank you. I replied that will be 50 Euro please. It should be noted that swix has two different basket attachment systems. This one is the simpler pop on-off version, no screwing. It fits the XC shaped tips, not the circular trekking pole tip style tips that have a screw nut to keep the other style of basket on
Mine look exactly as pictured and screw on, then "float" as blitzskier said. They came with Swix Mountain Touring and Mountain Extreme poles and I also ordered spares. These are their backcountry ski poles and have a circular tip, not sharp and pointy like a XC race pole.

Huh, that's odd. My baskets that are like this have no threading on the inside, and the tips do not have it either. Mountain tour and the other composite pole had these baskets. We have 10 pairs bought this year.

On the circular tips (Mt Extreme and Explorer/Expedition poles had these) the baskets do not have the black middle spacer and are tightened using a separate plastic nut. Four pairs of these. Some came with PVC/Nylon baskets, some with leather.

Mine actually snap on... As Phœnix was suggesting, I did put them in hot water and whack em and off they went... I'll do a repair on one of the leather strap...

Have you tried these? It will throw them off your scent.

It sounds to me like Rod is quite fond those other ones.
