Åsnes Ingstad 195 or 205?

Post by fedster » Fri Jan 10, 2025 4:19 am

I am looking at some sweet Åsnes Ingstad, and I am unsure whether to go 195 or 205. I am 180 tall for 80kg (give or take), and with gear and backpack I am probably 90 or 90+ I would like to have some float in deep snow, but I might want to go offroad across forest land (quite rugged terrain), and obviously in those conditions less is more. I am sure anything less than 195 is unrealistic, but I am not sure whether 205 would give me so much more float.

Based on your weight it sounds like the 205 would be a good fit. I think the 205's would float a bit better and offer better XC performance vs the 195's. According to the Asnes size chart you're in the 205cm bracket. The 195's would be easier to turn and navigate in tight situations though. Good luck!
