Sloth, where do you ski? What's your height & weight, and skier ability? If you're still open to advice, that info would help a lot with appropriate suggestions.
There's usually a good selection of used tele gear up for sale in any area where people ski. $250 is more than enough to get you a good set up.

I think it depends how much you want the bindings, because they are worth more than the ski. The skis have inserts which is a plus for me. If you want that binding as much as the ski I would offer 150.00.

If I were selling that setup I'd be happy with 150.00.
I just remembered reading your post that I paid $75 for my Super Stinkx back in 2006 that were leftovers still wrapped in plastic.

I've skied on all of those older K2 skis at one point or another, although not that particular vintage of Supers. The previous models skied really well, and I still have one pair. I paid $50 for it, used, with bindings, several years back, so that $250's a lot of $$ even with those binders installed. I'd keep looking for a better deal somewhere.
Come to think of it, on the back of the garage rack I still have a pair of "Piste Stinx" that I've not used in a while. They're nice skis for touring uphill in some conditions, but much too soft for really hard snow and junk, and too narrow for anything more than a few inches of powder... the Supers have that same sidecut, but have a grand all around flex, more lateral stiffness, and are very useable.

The candy canes were really a different ski. The earlier versions were all good ones. So were the World Piste's, if a bit soft flexing. I liked the red Piste Stinx, though also a softer flex (these variables are part of why it would be helpful to know more about the OP). The later version of the Piste Stinx, the not-red-ones, were a disappointment.

Hi! thanks all for the input, it steered me away from an almost impulse buy.
I am 200 (hoping to slim down to 185 or so)
5'8"
New to tele skiing, intermediate at downhill skiing.
Planning on putting 3 pins on my sbound 98, but not sure if that would be safe enough for resort blues. I have a pair of T2. NNNBC with Alpinas doesn't give me enough confidence.
I'm in New York, close to the Catskills.
