Looking at the photos on the site- I see X-SKin/Skin-Lock inserts in all three of these skis.Musk Ox wrote: EDIT: changed my mind when I discovered you could put a skin on the MT51

Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

Oh, totally. It was just me: I didn't know what that actually signified. Apparently I still thought it was 1998 or something.lilcliffy wrote:Looking at the photos on the site- I see X-SKin/Skin-Lock inserts in all three of these skis.Musk Ox wrote: EDIT: changed my mind when I discovered you could put a skin on the MT51

Re: Asnes Mountain Race 48
If you use the "height" part of the recommendation it says you should have 210's. The "weight" part suggests 190cm. Take the average of 190 and 210 and you have 200cm.j3n5 wrote: Thanks, but im also kind of a noob in bcx and hopefully on my way to my former trail running race weight soon so perhaps the 190s will do the job too? Or is Åsnes own recomendations way wrong?

I'm surprised the Mountain TOURING 51 WAXLESS doesn't have Xskin/skinlock... what's up with that?

wow, good job noticing that! the Nansen's do have the snakebite. that's too bad, it makes the MT51 fishscale less versatile. I guess they figure you're just using the scales, but the skins would be good to have for icy days.
