Why are almost all leathers black, and a couple red? Why no natural brown? Btw, how do those boots fit? And how does one go about resoling ski boots? Can you just purchase a new 75mm sole?
Norwegian welted tele boot resoles run from $100 and up (USD), from specialized boot repair shops. Almost impossible to do yourself as it takes specific tools and skills.
One of the reasons the Alico SM boot is so popular, imho, is that at least right now, it's much cheaper to import a new pair via fleabay from GB than having a similar style older pair of Merrels or Asolos rebuilt. If those ASM fit, buy yourself a second pair, and you'll be way ahead of the game.

Yes, last year over some distance and ended up with some fitment/breaking in issues. Old boots like this take some time to get right. I like them enough to keep working them in. I now have a PAIR of quality boot stretchers and they are still expanding the toe boxes. I'm optimistic that they will be my go to with my Gamme for flatter tours, but also I'm excited to try them with 3PC for some turns.

I'm wondering about the stiffness/flex also. Two layer midsole makes me think it's a fairly stiff sole (more like the Extremes); there's no mention of any stiffener in the uppers, but with the rand and what appears to be pretty substantial leather probably closer to the Extreme also.
I noticed the similarity (in appearance) to the Alaska's right off. This is probably the boot the Alaska wished it was, support wise. And will probably take a good few miles to break in.

I think the only way that you or anyone else is going to get his hands on this boot is to take a flight to Venice, then a train to Montebelluna, and go and set up a picket in the car park outside the factory, holding a large sign saying “Voglio i miei scarponi……….ma subito!”.
