It's a pleasant surprise that they're okay. Ejecting is a bit of a wild ride, especially with shrapnel all over the place! As long as it's not your fault, and there aren't injuries, it's kind of fun, though. Treading water in the dark waiting for the plane guard to run you over, not so much.

I've been waiting for Ward Carroll's take on this. I guess it's dropping today.
