Yup - formula from amateur to pro, from karts to full size cars is all mid-engine, rear drive.
It's just been shown to be the fastest, lightest, well balanced package for asphalt. All the rules pretty much dictate it now.
If you get into vintage racing you'll see all sorts of weird stuff. Front engine forumlas and rear engine karts. Most all still RWD though.
