Playing Around on old 215 cm Rossignols

Post by Erik H » Mon Mar 27, 2023 6:46 pm

Hello all, I am new to this forum and fairly new to Telemark skiing, (I have been doing it for about 2 months) recently I thought It would be fun to try an old school setup and decided to have a look at the local thrift store. Sure enough right there was a pair of old Rossignol Randonnees with Asolo 3 pin bindings. They were $12 and all skis were on sale for 50 percent off so I ended up getting them for only six dollars! I also got a Pair of Asolo extreme boots. I have taken these skis to my local ski area twice now and have had a blast, it's amazing how far Tele gear has evolved!

Just curious, are those skis bending when you are turning?

Nice — looks like you’re rockin’ it on those!
The smile says everything!
Looks like you have a ton of snow there.

Hey Erik, I'm also in Durango. If you want to do some mellow touring some time let me know. I've been cruising the hills around andrews lake and little molas this season.

Do they have an alpine camber? I hope so.

Those are great photos! That's one heck of a loooong ski.
It's good for technique to practice on those suckers.
Rossi Randonees were state of the art about 1984 or 5, alongside Rossi TRS tele skis.
Purgatory is getting the snows this season! Wish I could find the time to get down there.

very cool. my very first Tele setup was a pair of 215 Karhu's. they were also brown with gold letters, don't remember the model. and the boots that came with the skis were Asolo extremes. I quickly sold the skis and bought shorter ones. I also hacksawed the cuffs off some old Nordicas to turn the Asolos into a DIY Merrill Supercomp...worked great.

They are single cambered but it is quite a bit more than an alpine ski
