Last day... Sniff.

Post by Harris » Wed Apr 06, 2016 7:05 pm

What a couple final days of my season. Yesterday skied 10" of fresh tracks on top of boiler plate steeps in dense fog (it was actually really fun), and then today skied slush bumps under blue skies in t-shirt temps. It has been one helluva season. But now the skis and gear are stored away. I'll miss it. But... And now it is time to tune the mountain bike and do some outdoor climbing. There's always a positive note out there.

I skied a place called Crystal Mountain (WA) yesterday. And today I was up at my season pass area called Snowqualamie.

It closes in 2 weeks, although it will have snow for a while. 48 degrees this morning.

My local resort (Bluewood), still has lots of snow, closed last weekend. This area get much warmer than the Cascades.

I'm just getting over the flu and decided to take a drive up into the highlands/hills that i like to ski and found to my delight 2-3 FEET of fresh snow waiting to be skied. Was still too weak today but this weekend may be the best powder skiing of the season! It ain't over here...yet.

Not for me. I have mid-week days off. That and Summit/Alpental are my pass areas (40 min drive, whereas Crystal is almost 2 hrs away). Alpental is only running weekends now, which is a bummer--top of the mountain is probably skiing great right now.

Still kicking myself for not doing White Pass, Crystal last spring when the pass was open. Crystal is on the life list. Going skiing this weekend either at Thompson Pass or Silver Mtn.

Enjoy the climbing.
