Wow, I was wrong once again. Scarpa just released their new 2016-2017 boots. Specs seem to be the same. They look very similar to older models, but the colors are awesome! The TX Comp, the TX PRO, the good old T1 and the T2 Eco... They all got a brand new paint job...
And the coolest thing is that the older models are in super-sale...!

Johnny,
You ski a four buckle boot??? I appreciate heavy gear, but a three buckle is all I need. Just curious, and it is something skiing to talk about.
the t2 does look A LOT better than it has in recent memory.
i noticed late last season that they were putting a t1-style toebox onto the t4, but you can see theyve done the same for all their new boots! this seems like a pretty substantial update for a boot manufacturer? maybe their boots wont rocker-out as easily now? i wonder what spurred the change
defintiely might have to grab a pair of old t4s at the blowout price.
I guess I'm a no compromise kind of guy...
For me its either 4 buckles (NTN racing boots) or no buckles at all..! (Floppy NNN shoes)
They might not rocker out... I just hope they don't wear out as easily as they used to be... I've seen people destroying new boots duckbills within a few months... (Including myself...)

New colours are nice, but I'm missing some stuff there. I see no TX anymore, and no tech heel inserts on the pics I've seen of next years boots. Also no heel notches. So how are you going to use a TTS or Meidjo binding with these, or even a dynafit? I understand not a lot of people need this, but they actually changed the mould just to leave this out. This means the shoe is now more expensive to make and buy, but less flexible when it comes to choosing a binding.
I was waiting to update my TX (the first gen orange one) hoping they would finally update the design a bit, but frankly what's the point now? I skied this years TX, and all they really changed in 6 years is the liner and the colour. There is nearly no innovation and I feel like Scarpa are just reusing the same shoe for a decade and only upping the price.
I'm sorry, but I'm just buying a new liner and I'll use some new buckles of an old skiboot and I'll have something better than this years boot for less than €100. Colours, who cares.
It's funny, because if you look at Scarpa's skirando line, they have some pretty awesome stuff. Imagine a Scarpa F1 Evo or Alien with bellows and NTN sole. I think that would be an awesome boot for touring.

Dynafit is no longer an option, but you can use TTS or Meidjo (for tele) because they don't rely on the tech heels, just tech toes and heel throw (TTS) or underfoot connection to the duck butt (Meidjo).
Scarpa's move seems reactionary based on whatever pre-releases happened from folks skiing their NTN boots in Dynafit type bindings. Crispi doesn't seem to care, though maybe because they're stiffer and don't prerelease as much (or ever). I personally don't care either because I don't when I'd use the tech heel.
Bummed out about no update for the T-Race. Are the NTN Comps as stiff as the T-Race? Thinking about switching but want something comparable to the T-Race (especially the white ones).

T-Race? C'est fini. Not only is not going to be updated this season, but it is done and won't be produced until telemark skiing hits its rebirth.
And those aren't really updates. New buckles and new colors. That's it.
