BD Carbon Convert as a mostly resort ski
Making a major upgrade from my old BD Voodoos. The Carbon Convert is 105 underfoot and quite light. I'm looking for a primarily on-area ski. I've been telemarking for 20 years. I live in Montana.
This ski is a great deal at my LSS but am unsure if it is too wide for an on-area ski. Thoughts?

Hey man. I am no expert on on-piste skis...
But I have never used a ski that wide underfoot on-piste...Seems awfully wide to me...
I would think you would need some seriously powerful boots-bindings to hold that width on edge, on-piste...
What boots and bindings would you use?

Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

Grab a pair of real skis... Race or on-piste alpine skis.
The Carbon Convert is a nice backcountry ski... But not a frontside ski at all... Unless 90% of your skiing is bottomless powder...

What Johnny said, though I wouldn't necessarily say grab some race skis unless you plan to spend most of your resort time on groomed conditions. Something with a little more heft than the Carbon Converts to handle crud and chopped up resort conditions would make more sense to me.
