Yeah she's bad ass. I did see that interview actually. I was on the tube when I was posting those videos here and I saw the blonde hair and checked it out.

If you couldn't tell, I really like rock bands with a female lead.

Well I'm certainly not vegan...

That "bearguard" looks like it works- but I wouldn't want to use it:
1) the beeswax would prevent you from re-soling/re-gluing a boot.
2) the bear fat would make the leather too soft for my liking

I'll see how it works out, but my wife's Svartisens started to look a little dry and white in spots, and were definitely in need of something. She doesn't ski as much as I do, but I have 3 pairs of leathers to her 1, so hers have a bit more mileage. I wasn't sure what might work best with their boots and Goretex liners, so I opted to go with their own product.

The boots look nice and new after application and it definitely does pull up some hidden dirt (the pad gets dirty).

The boots seem to be treated with something similar out of the box, but I'll hit mine up before they get dried out. Definitely happened quicker than I thought it would.

btw...had a conversation with Pete Limmer in NH about treatments - Limmer sells their own silicon-based boot grease. Specifically asked him about Bearguard. He said their stuff is synthetic but essentially has the same animal fat ingredients in it.

He said it won't overly soften the leather if you don't overuse it. He said they don't like beeswax treatments because many of them don't have oils and will dry out the boot & cause cracks. Just another opinion.

I actually have no idea what this Crispi stuff is. It doesn't say. It's just some mystery paste... a balm if you will.

I have an email somewhere from Crispi confirming that their cream/balm product is water-based- and that they recommend wetting the leather for full absorption...

I will look for it- otherwise I will email them again.
