I do it a lot after putting the skis and bindings on the floor (unmounted), standing above them, and eyeballing whether it looks right. Cracky but comforting.
It is completely fabricated. But I always assumed it was some compromise between BC and BOF that Tele skiers assumed was better.

And speaking of nerdy... I've never once changed a binding position on a ski. But then again, I've never been a Tele skier.

I forgot to mention that step. Usually it involves wearing ski boots indoors and drinking beer. For me, anyway!

In reality, the best mounting advice I ever got from a ski tech was "just stand back and make sure it looks right, before you drill holes in it."

(As an aside, the best general ski advice I got from a ski tech was "if you can hurt them with a ball peen hammer, you don't want to ski them.")

If the Skis don't have a mark where would you mark it?

That is the point where you try to find the K2 manual and look up the mount point.

What size are they?

The manual is bit tricky to navigate.

77cm, straight line from the tail. From the farthest point, not from the skin notch.

I've been on various K2's for about 15 years. K2 always recommended pin line on chord center for their tele's. And they all skied (and ski) perfectly for me. However... all my experience has been skiing pre-rockered skis.
For twin tips, and rockered skis when they started showing up, consensus settled on BOD on center of running surface.

For a "traditional" ski, I'm a firm believer in pin line/chord center. It just plain works on this design. Rocketed, I'd see where BOF center compares with chord center to see where the boot's gonna be. I'm not a fan (contrary to current trends) of the go way forward mount thing. Quicker tip response? Yup. And, what then happens to the rest of the ski?
