I bought a pair of 200cm skis a few months ago and had them shipped to a friend who lives in Sweden. The idea was (because the seller would not ship to the USA) for her to ship the skis to me from the Swedish post office. But apparently she ran into difficulties. The local small post office would not ship the skis saying the package is too long and told her to go to a bigger city post office. When she did that the bigger city post office told her the same thing.
So the next agreement was that she would bring the skis with her when she flies to Boston in the fall. To make a long story short...she just informed me that I can have Fed Ex pick the skis up from her home and that she would prefer not to drag the skis to through the airports (I sympathize with that).
So my question is to get advice from someone who might have done some shipping of skis from Sweden to the East Coast (Maine) to help out with words of advice...
Sport Albert shipped my skis to me via DHL. I think DHL may have a larger European footprint. ...and Treefallen, you seem to have your share of lady friends. Just saying...

All helpful comments are appreciated. Thank You.
I am not too sure my comment will be helpful, but I don’t mind dragging the skis through airports if you pay me the plane tickets
Sorry but I could not help it
Hope you forgive me
There's something to this. Pay the luggage fees and throw in some convenience money and I'd do it. Otherwise, DHL I think. But if she thinks Fed-Ex is better, then she'd probably know.
