I just got a notification on my Facebook feed that LaCordee in Montreal is going out of business. Some awesome deals there, particularly for you folks south of the border.

Just spoke to Vincent from La Cordee and they are not going bankrupt. Just a big sale as the season ended for obvious reason ;)

It must be true I read it on the internet :? No seriously, I’m really glad they’re still in business. Out here in Lotus Land we have very few options now for specialist ski stores. Sigges in Kitsilano, for years, was the go-to store for XC skiers with a bit of XCD thrown in and they’re gone. The “original” MEC, before it became a lifestyle store selling Yoga pants et al looked after tele and AT. Then MEC started selling xc gear and that was probably the first nail in Sigge’s coffin. The original motto of MEC was “self propelled recreation” then they started selling downhill ski equipment WTF!

What bugs me is that the only store left standing, has staff who have no real knowledge of the gear. If we want to develop the sport and have no stores to give advice, how do we grow the market so the innovations come as we would all like.

Excuse the rant.

No worry.,. did not see any rant there, just the blind thruth :(

Af for La Cordee sale, they even have Asnes skis at 20% and they are usually never on sale. I will resist the tentation. It seems the Asnes fever has taken a break at my jome :D

Lots of great deals on Voile bindings with up to 60% reduction. Excursion, T4 and other boots at 60% but limited sizes..

Disclaimer, I don’t work for La Cordee but sure hope they stay in business as they offer such a wide variety of BC XC gear

Yes, those are some really sweet deals they have. I was reading them out to my better half and she gave me that special look, which says “don’t even think about buying more gear we have better uses for the money” :?

She’s probably right, I’ve got most of the bases covered for xcd through to high alpine tele.

Glittertinds, NNN BC
SBound 98, Rottefella Telemark Cable (which is actually a hardwire)
G3 Stinger 78 XCD, B&D TTS plate, Dynafit Radical toepiece, Voile Switchback X2 back end
Atomic Aspect 85, Meidjo 2.1
Voile Vector, B&D TTS plate, Dynafit Radical toepice, Voile Switchback X2 back end (toe piece and back end shared with the G3 Stinger)
K2 Talkback 96, Kreuzspitze TeleAlp plate, Dynafit Radical toepiece, X2 back end (toepiece and back end shared with G3 and Voile skis)

Still, as an unrepentant gear whore I still have these urges :D

Sad to hear, Mountain Gear closing.

Good prices on Alpine Alaska 75 and BC, and Fischer BCx6.

This isn't exactly a deal at $99/149usd, but interesting nonetheless

195cm Asnes V12's... I think the dimensions are: 93-62-85. Early 2000's ski. Could be a decent BC cruiser in the mold of the Ingstad without the rocker and more sidecut.

if they were 10cm shorter, I would buy them! bummer. My wife would not be happy if I picked up new Ingstads + bindings at REI for 10% off...which is what I really want.
