"The Donald"

This is the place to debate politics, global warming, and yes, even the origin of man, whatever. Simply put, if you want to argue about off topic stuff, you've found the right board. Have fun!

That's the thing about Lefties and Socialism. No matter how many times they see the policies fail, they just don't think they'll fail again! And they always do. City after city are ground down by these policies. Baltimore, San Francisco, NYC, Portland, Seattle, and now Minneapolis (burned down in mostly peaceful protests) to name a few have been turned into shit-holes thanks to these policies and now we'll try them nation wide. Point it out, show the statistics, the numbers, the costs in $$ and human lives, and it's always "spewing vitriol".
Yeah right, Hannity. You wouldn't know Socialism if a lefty jumped up and smacked you in the face.
these policies
Neo-liberalism and racist, violent socio-pathic pigs killing people w/o consequence? Those policies?

It's challenging to respond to you insightful logic and well reasoned arguments.

socialism
n. Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.
n. The stage in Marxist-Leninist theory intermediate between capitalism and communism, in which the means of production are collectively owned but a completely classless society has not yet been achieved.

Some 49% of Generation Z and 47% of millennials have favorable opinions of the term socialism. For millennials, that number has gradually declined from 50% in 2018 and 49% in 2019.

Meanwhile, Black Lives Matter activist John Sullivan has been arrested and charged with federal crimes after attending the riot at the U.S. Capitol last week.

According to an official affidavit released by the Department of Justice Thursday evening, Sullivan had a knife and dressed in body armor. He told others who breached the building that they should start a fire and burn the building down.

This was set up to be the Democrats' "Reichstag Fire" moment. Following this summer's pattern of Kristallnacht like events where the Democrats' Brown Shirts, Antifa, went on a tear.

In the previous response, I am reading classic responses and tactics by Trumpers; rather than acknowledge the facts of the evil, they misdirect the conversation to some other issue. In Trumps case; the modus operendi is also to accuse others of his own crimes. By this method the initial issues (e.g. trump supporters invading our legislature with plans to kidnap and/or kill; and disseminating lies) are not addressed.

I get that this bit of information is to good to pass up to try and prove a point but it’s not accurate
I read this yesterday (link and quote below) from KSL Salt Lake City far from being a liberal news source.

https://www.ksl.com/article/50088017/ut ... pitol-riot

“Social media posts show that Sullivan is seeking to organize an "armed march" at the Utah State Capitol to "end government control" this month, an event featured on Insurgence USA's website. Black Lives Matter activists have noted that the march is not calling for Black liberation or the protection of Black lives. Sullivan is reportedly banned from Black Lives Matter organizations.

Black Lives Matter Utah founder Lex Scott said that Sullivan is not associated with its chapter.

"John Sullivan is not a member of Black Lives Matter Utah, he is not a member of our chapter, he is not affiliated with our chapter. He started a group called Insurgence USA," said Scott.

Some other activists have accused Sullivan of being a provocateur.”

Just wanted to clear that up as I think you gave him to much credit for being a part of a Democratic Scheme and from the sound of it acted more or less alone.

How about a send-off with one of your favorite sayings...

“YOU’RE FIRED!”

Don’t let the door hit your backside on the way out.

From an outsider perspective, I have no idea why social policies such as free healthcare and education are called socialist. Things paid for by taxpayer money in most countries include basic infrastructure for society to function: roads, judicial system with judges and prisons, water supply, railroad system, police, fire department, basic schooling, the mail system, electricity grid and government infrastructure. So all countries already utilize, or have utilized some "socialist" policies to set up basic needs for the society.
To suggest expanding this to healthcare and higher education is "communism"? lol...
Anyways, I remember now why I avoided this particular subforum.

Have a great day everyone. Hope you got good snow!

Ooga booga socialism! The main problem that us americans have with socialism is that it takes away conservatives' leverage over the poor and racially diverse. They are very keen to keep their white privilege for as long as possible.

There has to be balance. A free & open market is without compassion and will not always serve the needs of the people. Also, even with the best of intentions, markets tampered by the government can work against the people the government consists of (e.g. full blown communism). In both of these situations, the public is not served well when there is a lack of compassion.

Do the people need a public water supply system without fear of price gouging or a substandard system going into disrepair? Do the people need more regulation for opening a new business? Prioritizing what exactly warrants this compassion is the hard part.
