Thanks Rod, it was a fantastic day weather wise and snow conditions. Surprising my wife with the Champagne made it extra special. We even toasted Lake Ontario for supplying the flurries, snow showers and squalls that have kept things fresh since our last storm of 5 inches three weeks ago.

I just saw a forecast for the latest system coming through, and it looks like eastern Pennsylvania is the epicenter. Al, I’ve been noticing that you seem to be getting your share of these systems. I never realized that eastern PA was such a snow belt!
I’m looking forward to the powder photos!

The nearest town to me averages 63 inches per year and I'm almost 400' higher so I'm sure I get more. Getting snow isn't the problem, keeping it through the warm spells and rain is. Our first big storm dropped almost 20 inches and I only got 8 ski days out of it before a huge rain event melted it in two days. Our last storm was over three weeks ago and was only about 5 inches. It skied well for almost two weeks and then got a good refresh from the lake effect snow that comes as snow showers and squalls.

It has been great this year. It's not the lack of moisture that's the problem, staying cold is.

Missed all last season because of an unexpected move. I'm finding new places to ski.

Thanks Stephen, I would but I don't want to promote the use of alcohol in the BC. After consuming some Jagermeister on yesterdays tour I fell over while standing still. It wasn't all bad though as we got in a little extra skiing when I told my wife I wasn't ready to drive yet.

My favorite is Rumple Minze, I love that German peppermint schnapps.
Winter camping hot chocolate milk and Rumple Minze around the campfire is the wildcat's meow. And huddled up to the wood stove.
"Schmeckt Gut" as my dad said.

That sounds good too Jack, but I'm mostly into it for the health benefits of the 56 macerated botanicals, the effects of the alcohol are just a side effect.

Touring and turning -- and even a little bit of farming -- in the hills SE of home yesterday.

S and E aspects were baked and maybe even sautéed.

Stuck to mostly N and found light snow with a funky wind crust underneath that kept us on our toes.
