Re: Wax pocket Q
When I have added a coating it was because the wax below was sticking. Consequently the base layer had been chilled by the snow freezing and icing on that layer. Conversely, the colder wax applied over the top is warm from being in my pocket. While warm wax may not apply as thin, it does spread easily warm.

Another thing, I would prefer blue for coating klister. Klister brings already same quality to the set that purple would. Maybe purple works, too.

Scrubbing wax tin back and forth heats klister up, too, if it has got too cold, when coating during skiing.fisheater wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 1:29 pmWhen I have added a coating it was because the wax below was sticking. When skiing, I keep waxes in a kicker skin belt bag. They stay cold there because it is a bit off my body.
That went a bit into detalls… Which were asked earlier.
Another reason to use coating would be avoid dirt from sticking.

@tkarhu you've mentioned Rex universal klister. I could not find such thing as liquid, only as traditional gel?

Rex calls universal gold
Vauhti has a liquid klister, too. Yet its temperature range is wet and warm weather. Not my typical skiing weather, maybe.
Based on a quick google, following Swix product is meant for same use, too.

I am using Swix Universal K65C, but I find it not easy to spread it in a thin layer, as solvent evaporates quite quickly and klister becames jelly. Nevertheless, it has a convenient temperature range for my spring conditions, -5 to +10.
