LL Bean sold some good gear years ago. I still have a set of very early composite Exel poles bought from LL Bean. Way tougher than any Swix poles at the time.

Today I skied with Swix Mountain Extremes… composite poles. Less swing weight, same toughness.

Lawyers might be trading letters of demarche, but the courts would regard the whole thing as “progress” rather than any kind of infringement provided some never-before-used-patented-process wasn’t violated.
We dreamed of riding waves of air, water, snow, and energy for centuries. When the conditions were right, the things we needed to achieve this came into being. Every idea man has ever had up to that point about time and space were changed. And it keeps on changing whenever we dream. Bio mechanical jazz, man.

Settlers prosper, pioneers get slaughtered.

Is Altai going under or something? Doesn't seem that either company gets a huge market share anyway

That being said Altai didn't invent skin based ski's, though they had quite a hand in their reemergence. They'll have to find a way to compete, they haven't put out a new product since the Balla and Kom, quite a while ago now.
If someone else can do what you do, only better, faster or cheaper, you're going to have to improve or suffer the consequences. This is entirely natural.

The skishoe thing has tapered off a bit I think and there were/are numerous competitors now anyway.

I have a few Altai ski's, love them, love the company still need a Kom, but business is business, and it's not always pretty.

Like, people from India? Or did you mean Native Americans? Or Indigenous peoples of North America? Or First Americans? American Indians? Aboriginal Americans?Did they all get "genocided"? Are they all the same? Were they always where they were when they got genocided? Did they come from somewhere else before that? Did they displace people when they arrived? Who were those people? Did they get "genocided"?
What about the aboriginal people who lived in America and allied with European settlers to wipe out other Aboriginal peoples of America? What about the Aboriginal Americans who wiped out other Aboriginal Americans prior to European contact?

Is it all just monkeys with big brains doing monkeys with big brains shit to other monkeys with big brains? Man's inhumanity to man? The natural order of competition playing out with high intelligence and ever modernizing technology?
There's always going to be winners and losers, the winners aren't always virtuous and it always sucks to lose. Hand wringing, sanctioning perpetual victimhood and gross simplifications never solve anything.

Altai's an interesting company, with interesting products, if they survive it will because their products are more interesting than those of their competitors to most of the market, not because their competitors or some of the market feels bad for them.

Hé, bravo... That's a nice piece of MAGA philosophy you've got here! Thanks! Far too brilliant to be submitted to a refutation... Happy Holidays Mr 12gaugesausage...

"MAGA philosophy"? Please. No need to be hateful.

Agreed! I mean who really cares about victimhood unless the ones who are complaining are conservative white men anyways?

Seemingly everyone? I don't understand what "white conservative men" has to do with all this because I'm not a racist who labels people by skin color so perhaps you can enlighten me?
