Scarpa tx pro and high vol feet
From Garmont energ to scott synergy 75mm and now making jump to ntn. Seems like tx play is the widest out there right now. I managed to try a pair on briefly. Managed to get my foot in and barely buckle. After a few min the top of instep was quite painful. I’ve had mixed luck heat molding liners and always a bit nervous about grinding/blowing out tele shells. Shop seems to have some experience modifying tele boots but wondering if any experience with high volume feet and tx pros. Thx in advance for any guidance.

Heat mold them and enlarge the area around the toes and the area that's tight. Use a fitter with a money back guarantee. Boots pack out and become roomier.

Re: Scarpa tx pro and high vol feet
I had the same problem trying on the TX Pro. I have wide feet but also high instep. The instep in the TX isn't high enough, and then it squeezes the whole foot down causing tightness not just above, but on the sides. Agony. I don't think heat moulding would have fixed it for me.
I ski in Crispi EVOs for this reason. They're not as good of a boot, but at least they fit me. On paper the TX has just as wide or wider of a last as the EVO. But in practice the EVO fits, while the TX just... hurts. Have the same problem with the old bellowed Scarpa F1, too.

Scott NTN are much higher volume. People with high volume feet have not had great luck with scarpas even after heat molds. I'm not sure why, but I think the plastic still digs into your instep.

Sometimes your instep measurement is longer than you foot length measurement and you need to size up.
