The skier is impressive! Maybe he is a transplanted Northeast Kingdom Teleboy!
Hopefully Teleman will respond

Wow! And some say XCD on Gammes is too challenging
@Erik H Are the bindings actually NNN or SNS (not even NNN-BC)?

The bindings are regular atomic nnn bindings, NOT the turnamic ones that came on the skis, I hated the turnamic bindings for telemark but the current bindings work well.

for me a person who likes challenges what could be better? Skinny double cambered skis, long, light. To make it work equipment makes one work hard and gets your butt kicked on occasion. BUT, when it happens it's wicked sweet. My obsession is the turn, arc, or whatever one wants to call it. Really good corn or wonderful powder is the ticket, and we get plenty up here in the Northeast kingdom. Also about equipment, poles: have to be long to "pole" on the flats and very important on the zig zag up. Light and flexible: Boots made with leather are flexing machines and they help in the bush because you can make them conform. Teleking once proved his point up at Telecamp. Forgot who but was asked what was so good about leather boots? Heh, Teleking took off one boot and twisted it around like a rag and said....this. You can make it conform to your wants not the other way around. Double camber on the up and cruising is obvious. Length gives stability and light and narrow makes them slicers. Hard to get good on that equipment is not easy and there will be many more crashes than on downhill equipment. HOWEVER the end game is the sweetest, wonderful arc and feeling turn there is. TM

I learned to tele ski on full Nordic race gear in the 80's. we would mess around at the local alpine resort. it's all finesse on race gear: no torque possible ....this was long before nordic "race boots" that had rigid uppers, etc

^^ This.
Hilarious when ppl express the need for plastic boots, tech bindings, and carving skis for backcountry tele… the low angle stuff in the northeast and midwest, not skimo. Usually a sign that they started skiing late in life, didn’t develop solid technique and skills, skipped ski lessons, or became dependent on equipment to do things they should be capable of.
NN, NNN BC, or Xplore + a full boot with support, low camber, edged BC ski is enough to get started. Never too late.

I only ski tele this days from a lift . I wear TXPros, Outlaw X and a 108 underfoot ski. totally the opposite of the way I learned

75 mm for the win, decades of proof they work for XCD especially the Voile 3-pin cable. Still on my BC corn snow skis, a pair of Volkl G2 skis.
