Mounting 3 pin on used Ultravector?

I am considering a purchase of a pair of used Voile UltraVector BC. They were mounted for 6-hole bindings - perhaps Axl or something.

How hard/safe would be to mount a standard 3-pin binding here?

Will I be able to find a good location to mount 3pins given the preexisting holes?
Will I be able to power these skies with a T2 boot?

I vote yes to handling them with a T2. I think you might wish you had more than a simple 3-pin binding if you do more than low angles in soft snow. Those are such capable skis, even a bad skier (like me) would probably want to get sendy with them at some point. I have 3-pin hardwire bindings on HyperVector BCs, and I’m glad for the hardwire option and riser plate for leverage and force dispersal.

You’re going to have to put a template (attached) on the ski and see if you have any overlap once you find where the pin line goes. It’s going to be difficult to drill partway in to a filled hole so you would move the pin line fwd/back enough to get a clean hole.

The short answer is that there "shouldn't" be a problem. I just compared the templates for 22D and 3 Pin. The front, center hole for a 3 pin will be in the clear, no doubt. The 2 back holes will most likely fit comfortably between the rear most and middle existing holes. Not a big deal to scoot the binding around a few cm if needed.

This is all assuming that:
1. The first mount was at or near Voile recommended mount point.
2. That it is actually a 22D pattern.
3. That the original boot and your boot are not of radically different boot sole lengths.
4. That I haven't forgotten anything else important.

Personally, I would go with a Switchback or Hardwire binding for this ski. That's just my preference. I have a pair of Switchback X2 on mine. If you are planning on doing any distance on these, the Switchback tour mode will be appreciated.

In short- no, the seller was flaky, and whole deal seemed too good to be true - $150 for the pair of ultravectors.

I, however, was able to score a pair of used voile v6 hyper BC a few weeks ago with a pair of fairly expensive AT bindigs, G3 Zed 12 to be specific - for $300. Now I am tempted to try using them with an AT boot... I know, I know, I should just remove the AT bindings and put Switchbacks on 'em and stay true to myself...

No worries. I reread my post with interest and suspense because I had no recollection of it and you never know what embarrassing things your past self may have done behind your back.

And comme tu veux! From one budget-minded ski shopper to another, that sounds like a great score.
