Axel Bruun also has a deal on Falketind, and I think both deals are as good as you will get now. Late spring may be better, but not by much and selection will be less I believe. XXL is the wildcard, but I am not sure what the status is this year, and south of Norway have a better snow season so we will see. The price hike this year is significant.

Getting my first backcountry skis to learn telemark, decided on falketinds, just unsure about length. Which one should I get 188 or 196cm? For experience, I've skied thousands of kilometers on groomed tracks.
I'm 187/75-80kg, add 5kg for clothes and backpack.

For learning the Telemark turn you would probably be best on the 188 cm. I’m shorter at 5’ 9” and heavier at 190 lbs, and I’m on the 196 cm. I have been Telemark skiing for many years, I am not skiing tight trees, and I wanted to maximize kick and glide performance for covering distance between downhill runs.
If you have a preference for longer skis, I don’t think the 196 cm will be too stiff for you to bend into a turn. Adding the caveat for rougher terrain you are better off shorter.

The FTX has a low-profile camber that will be easily crushed at your weight- even at 196cm length.

The unique performance advantages of this ski are best realized at a long length in my opinion.

What snow and terrain conditions are you planning on using this ski?

Snow conditions would be, what ever the weather throws my way. We currently have around 90cm of snow here, was powdery, but hardpacked now it's Been raining.
Terrain is hilly with trees, some open places to ski down where trees have been cut, also flat around lakes and huge swamps. Got 250m elevation hills from the door.
Would like some xc performance from the ski, but mainly downhill focus. My current Rossignol xc skis are 196cm.

@Vrasho Falketind 62 is a very nice ski for telemark, especially if you already are proficient. If not, you will get faster progress with lift based skiing on alpine skis with sufficient side-cut and plastic boots.

I am 175 cm and have chosen 180cm, partly for float and xc performance in addition to turns. Rabb 68 is also be a nice alternative with more float in loose snow and slightly more side-cut/shorter turning radius, that can be chosen in a shorter length.
