Hoth, QC

Post by Bri7 » Wed Mar 25, 2015 9:42 pm

Hoth is located south of Coruscant.
Most likely my last dry powder day of the year.
Mikek was no where to be found once against. Probably drolling at work and crying by the end of that post :)

I was in the laboratory with oils, and metals, and lasers... how lame is that?

I'd much rather be in snow and woods. But I have to work to afford the big city life :)

They won't even let me in your country either - I need documents or some shit... but it looks like Johnny is training you well young Briwalker... hopefully I'll have a chance to learn to harness the force.

If you need document to visit us, we'll visit you :) Johnny has ruled sheet and I have my passport. (We crossed the border once and he had an enveloppe with a ruled sheet in it, not sure yet how why they let us in that time...)

Yeah that's been discussed... seems Johnny wants to do some wild assed shit like ski a slide. I got him all pumped up about it... I'm just a XC skier - I can't do that.

Wright and Algonquin are waiting for you:

I'll ski out to Marcy Dam with you and take a nap in a lean to while you guys go rip up those peaks...

Honestly if you guys wanted to try to organize a Ttalk XCD fest, this might be an ideal area. There is something for everyone...

Those that want a nice tour can go to Avalanche pass or Whales Tail.

If the conditions are nice we could hit Klondike Notch glades, or on day two.

And those who want something wild could ski Wright ski trail and/or Angel Slides.

The Bennies Brook slide is supposedly more of an 'XCD' slide as it's not as steep at the bottom and as steep as you want to get the farther up you go (get's to like 50° or so).

There's also quite a few lean-tos in the HPW so those that wanted to do some winter camping could do so as well.

Never know what the weather is going to do - so worst comes to worse you go to LP Brewery, Cascade XC or Whiteface depending...

I mean the Chic-chocs might be nicer, but it's not very central...

Though I can hardly join you guys, the terrain seems very attractive. :-)
The flowing river never stops and yet the water never stays the same.

Mike when I skied Mt. Marcy years ago all that was required was a strong snowplow. I don't remember for sure but I might not even have had metal edges.

I believe you Al, provided the conditions are good. I know lots of people have skied it on non-metal edge xc skis.

Despite that it's long and a lot of vert. Might not be everyone's idea of fun. We talked about it, and I'll ski it someday, but def not the way conditions are now.
