Please tell us the good reasons, because I know only of bad ones. I hope they are not the false Russian excuses for the Ukraine invasion/war, like "de-nazifying", "suppression of Russians", "killing of inhabitants in Donbass", or others that are easily disproven. I also do not think wanting to dominate and control Ukraine is a valid reason, and I hope you are not of that opinion?

The current capitalist world order is nowhere perfect and wealthy individuals have too much power, but surrendering my freedom so dictators and their friends can have the wealth and power is even worse. I do live in socialist Norway though, where most have good lives because of much less inequality. The world as a whole has slowly moved in the right direction for many decades. I hope we can get back to that both in the 3rd world, and also in the 1st world, but that is a distraction and not the topic of this discussion.

It is a pity that Russia with its vast resources and land is not a great economy where its people can prosper, but the current regime has been unable to move in that direction. Instead they are using the Russian income for on their own, buying luxury, estates both in the west and east, yachts and more. Perhaps that is better for the free world, instead of them building up a military superpower ruled buy a dictator. The Ukraine war is the latest consequence, with Putin wanting to place his name in history as a great ruler and achieving the exact opposite.

I understand that you can only call it a "Special military operation", but Russia is throwing anything they can get away with into it and destroying both Russia and Ukraine. Currently it seems the best Russia can end up is as a Chinese vassal state. Anyone person has value, even the poor Russian soldiers Putin is wasting in his war of folly. And none of your reasons except 4 would be a reason for Russia's invasion, unless they strangely want to protect the west. Its all poppycock though, but Number 4 touches on it, as Russians learning about Ukrainian's freedom could destabilize Russia.
