FWIW, my final word is that the Alpina Alaska XP is just the finest nordic boot I have seen in 43 years of skiing.
I'm late to the party started by Rottefella by introducing the Xplore system! Thanks for an enthusiastic and thorough analysis of the Alpina Alaska XP boots. Have a pair on the way in the mail to be used with Åsnes Falketind 62 xplore. Finally a light weight set for long trips in the mountains combined with good downhill control!
Your detailed discussions of the Alpina boot and Xplore binding make them sound fantastic. I am ready to upgrade, except for the issues of the pins jamming and the sole delaminating. Do you believe these issues have been resolved?
