It's so strange. If you know that area at all its rugged. It's gas plant territory, there's an osb plant there. Its nothing like what that video portrays

Re: The Alberta XCD thread
I planned on skiing some stuff on the Smith Dorian today, particularly hero/purple knob circuit. Arrived a bit late around 10 and there was 20 to 30 cars. Unreal! Chose Burstall Pass instead, 18km round trip, only one lap in the alpine as I somehow forgot my water and didn't want to doddle. There IS open fresh water on the untracked by the "Lake" but hadn't realized I'd forget the water until I was way past. Great conditions in the Pass with soft boot deep snow on a great base. I went past somebody's PIT on the way up and the snowpack looked very decent. It's a freeheelers dream there with a variety of micro zones ranging from low angle to steep. Once into the alpine and off the luge style up track you can ditch the skins and scoot around on scales. Love Burstall Pass. It doesn't get hit very hard by AT groups because linking runs together is a pain with skins. IMO

Re: The Alberta XCD thread
On Instagram there's an account where a father and daughter travel all over Alberta visiting it's local ski areas. Pretty interesting trip into rural Alberta from a skiers perspective. I'm sure 95 percent of these places only ever see locals. It's hard to believe these ski areas exist but somehow they are there and some crazy father daughter duo has the time and resources and interest to see them all.

After watching many of the clips, I can say that Calgary's winsport may be the absolute worst of options for ski areas in Alberta. Maybe just open up wintergreen again, or build something new. There's a market
